Have a lot of fun with the figure, Cappy!Cappy wrote:Sweet. Mechawhale is cool enough to trigger shipping my Pile of Loot. He'll hopefully arrive this week.

Got my whale! He's awesome. Now make the rest. It's cool that I got to see this from the first sketches to becoming an actual figure. You must be stoked hauke

I am really glad you are happy with him. I was actually a little bit nervous if the figure would live up to people's expectations. Fortunately so far people who got him seem to like him. :-) I am quite stoked now.
Re: Mechawhales
I have to admit I was a bit worried about what kind of material would be used. But I'm always like that with a new figure. And it's cold as hell here in Chicago so when ups delivered it I opened it, put it in the detolf, and walked away. After an hour I decided it shouldn't be brittle from the cold anymore so I went to take a closer look and try the articulation. The plastic is nice and soft and has a bit of flex to it. I like that a lot. The paint is nice too. Obviously some parts were painted before assembly as well. I dig it man. All around cool. I was chasing my wife and step-daughter around the house with it. I named him the Monstro-5000. He ate pinocchio and then blew up his city. Cuz that's how he rolls

Ha, ha that is a cool story. Again I am happy you like the materials and paint. When you make a PVC figure for the first time it is hard to judge what kind of "feel" people would like/expect from the figure. So that was something else I was a little bit nervous about. :-)edstuff wrote: I was chasing my wife and step-daughter around the house with it. I named him the Monstro-5000. Re: Mechawhales
The Mechawhales figure is featured in the latest issue of Previews catalog, page 432. This might be especially interesting for people living outside the U.S. who want to avoid shipping and custom charges. Just tell your local hobby store to order them for you.
Re: Mechawhales
So I gotta ask man how are these doing? Are you selling enough to produce the next figure?

They sold o.k. so far but it is still a long way to go until they sold enough to warrant producing other figures. However with them now being in Previews and also being featured on Gizmodo last week I hope they will get a boost in sales. So I have to wait and see.

Mechawhales wholesaler DKE Toys will be at Comic-Con. You can visit them at booth #5045 to get all the latest Mechawhales news. You can also pick up free postcards featuring the Mechawhales figure from their booth.
Re: Mechawhales
Here is the latest adventure of the Mechawhales. This one introduces the Alien Bionic Warrior as well as the Narwhale. It also features the Orca again in a more prominent role. This animation is just a little fight sequence to kill the wait for a longer animation that I am currently planning. The next one will introduce some new alien races as well as some evil whale mutations.
