Re: NOZZEL S001.50
Hey Ferg sorry to bombard you with questions but how far apart are the .50 going to be released? The amount of nozzles I order depends on this.

The direct and retail releases will alternate. They should be about 3-4 weeks apart on average. But as of right now, there are no hard dates set going forward.

I think it's the shipping costs that are turning people off. At first glance, I was like "hmmm $60, NOPE!". But then once I tagged teamed with a friend/local CADer, that brings the cost down to $50/ea if we combine our orders. Which half the price for half the squadt. Suggestion: make friends, save money

Re: NOZZEL S001.50
Um, pass. I was really looking forward to these but the price with shipping seems astronomical, not just a little high. As a point of comparison Coarse sells 3" Omens for $14.95 and the 7" ones are $90ish. I figured there would be a wave of the first three releases, or something, at the start which would alleviate redundant shipping costs and waiting time.
Half the height ain't half the size, dude.cripery wrote:I'm going for three. One for display. One to keep carded. One for taking out and about. Perfect. With the combined shipping that's $48 per. unit. They're half the size of a standard Squadt and that works out at around half the price of a full size Squadt inc. shipping.
Precisely.vkayl1010 wrote:Polite pass on this one. Way too much for shipping. Would rather spend on full size squadt.

I used to think around $35 included the shipping fee, well, this really annoy me especially it is not a real limited release in a way.
the same size figure from Coarsetoys doesnt come with any accessories, so I can accept the price of .5 squadt is higher than coarsetoys,
but 40+20 for a .5 squadt that is really too much.

Aren't Coarse's Omen figures a simple chunk of painted vinyl with little to no articulation? Not really a fair comparison to something with clothing, accessories, and interchangeable parts. Not that I disagree with you about the pricing - I'm also going to save my pennies for other figures.

Re: NOZZEL S001.50
All this belly aching over the shipping is giving me a fucking ulcer...
Here's a little formula...
$100-$20=$80/2=$40=HALF the price...
Or...
2x$40=$80+$25=$105=2 for the price of 1
Also $60 is only slightly more than half a regular sized for slightly more than a half size squadt...hmmm
And before the lecture on shipping size it don't make much a different on size but only a few bucks, this is balanced out when multiples are ordered and they have to eat the difference.
Before ferg gets beaten up over the $35 price "quote" which he said "shooting for $35", which to me sounds like he is trying his best to give us the best deal possible, but we have to remember the support we provide keeps the lights on to keep the playge/jamungo motor turnin...
Comparing squadts to omens is total nonsense...$24 to $90 is a pretty big fuckin leap for a few inches of plastic, to further back my statement...
Omen= 1 piece of plastic
Squadt= 1 body with articulated feet, 4 arms, head, helmet, 2 lenses, clothes, and a weapon, sometimes more.
I'll get off my soapbox now...

Re: NOZZEL S001.50
Yes , shipping cost is a bummer for us all I guess.
But I guess it can't be another way, with production costs that can't absorb a free shipping ?
This being said, it won't stop me on this, Nozzel S001 is a must. But I will be quite more "choosy" for the next ones than if shipping was included in the price.
Maybe Ferg will find a way to lower this for the next release. Would be good, a 45$/squadt shipped would be awesome.
3A is doing the same, when you buy 1/6 stuff shipping is included in the price, but when it comes to little pieces like 1/12, there is a shipping to pay.

Re: NOZZEL S001.50
Nice summary Chase. You forgot to add...
If you don't like the price, don't buy it. I'd love a '68 Camaro, I don't like the price, I won't buy one. Pretty simple math.

Re: NOZZEL S001.50
I'm with chase on this one too. I basically did the same math and although I would have liked it to be a tad cheaper, what really kept me from getting this guy was the blister packaging. I could only really afford to get one right now and the fact that I'd most likely destroy the packaging (unlike full size squadts) meant I had to stick this one out. I'm very interested to see how the next .50's are released but I fear we'll still be getting blister packaging
Re: NOZZEL S001.50
Chase you are the man!
Guys you are also forgetting this is a rare opportunity for us (24hr open window of purchase) . Not only are we getting a replica of an OG squadt we are also going to be the first to have a chance to get a product that has unlimited potential. I feel sorry for those who pass on these because you will be the ones a year from now saying "man I wish I would have gotten one of those". I know $20 may be steep for shipping right now but guess how much you will have to pay for this guy next year when it turns into a grail and a must have, and you will still have to pay the shipping cost. Just keep in mind and think about all the squadts you don't have and wanted now because you passed on them. Just my opinion folks! bring on the .50's

Re: NOZZEL S001.50
Except a .5 Squadt IS NOT HALF THE SIZE OF A REGULAR SQUADT. Fucking figure it out. There is a lot less material used there. One cubic foot is not half the size of two cubic feet so there goes that reasoning. Use another pricing example if you'd like. 3A 1/6 vs 1/12. 3" vs 8" dunnys, a small sized custom anything vs a large custom. The point about pricing still stands.
Describing Squadts as 'articulated' as a point of emphasis on comparison is rather asinine. Like really, you bend and pose your Squadts huh. The shoulders aren't even attached. The 'articulated' arms break easily.
Don't buy it if you don't like it? We aren't buying it. That's what some of us are discussing here. You know, on the Collect and Destroy art toy forums inside the release discussion of the Nozzel S001.5 thread. Feel free to see yourself to the door if you don't like it.
You love the release? That's great. I'm happy for you. Don't shit on people discussing the release with other valid opinions. Lots of other people were looking forward to the .5 Squadts and wanted to love them too.

Re: NOZZEL S001.50
i think everyone has valid points and i'm sure ferg benefits from the discussions.
i can't imagine these getting any easier to produce as they get smaller. yes, less material, but i imagine margin of error becomes miniscule. if these are quality and function like the big boys, i'm in. only way i know if i really like it, is when it is in my fat little hands
we could save on shipping if these were made in america. but then the price of the squadt would be $100.
