Right, but do you know if its different in any way from nail polish remover?
It's the active chemical
Nail polish remover is more cost effective

Acetone is stronger, but it plays nice with vinyl for the most part. It will eat the vinyl slowly, so keep a bucket of water nearby and dunk whatever you're stripping once every couple minutes in order to stop that from happening. I have never tried nail polish remover, but acetone os really not that expensive at a hardware store.
Two things I've learned from stripping Squadts:
1] The elbow joints in the 2.0 arms will fuse together if you get solvent in them. It's probably best to just strip/repaint the bottom half of the arm that can be seen when the figure is clothed [or use the non-articulated arms].
2] Put a small piece of masking tape over the hole in the inside of the helmet while stripping. Otherwise, you're going to get water and solvent in there and it's a bitch to get out.

Just a side note ! I recently discovered that You can re polish any area that gets cloudy from the acetone/fingernail polish remover trying to eat through the plastic with a dremel and a polish wheel, and use a very small amount of the polishing compound and also with any paint stripper you wanna be quick about it and change your paper towels out constantly, I like to tear a bunch of small paper towel strips for this and yes like colossus said have some water near by
