I fucking hate people. We shoulda bought Eric a gun to take with him, to make sure these didn't end up in the hands of fucking flippers...
Re: bud cat sdcc 2010 on ebay
Most of those SUPER high price sales are fakes. Someone puts one up at a high BIN, then has their friend buy it, then put one up at close to or more than the original price. It's a standard flipper move.

Yes. Artificially inflating the price. Fuckers.

Unless you have hookups, it's definitely cheaper to pay the flipper prices, unless you want too much stuff.

Flipper suck!
It's always humorous to see how people try to steal from others based on the fact that you can't make a show. Screw them. Do something nice for somebody and sell it at cost plus shipping. Otherwise go crawl into a hole.
Re: bud cat sdcc 2010 on ebay
I don't completely agree with that. Especially if you are spending thousands of dollars to be there. I also don't think it's stealing. I mean in a perfect world everyone could get everything they want for a low price. I'm hurting so bad for money right now, that I'm selling stuff I wanted to keep. I also have a ton of stuff that I've lost interest in that has gone down in price. There are some figures I bought for $100 2 years ago that I won't be able to get even $10 for now. So If I could sell EVERY SINGLE FIGURE I have, without taking a loss, I might be more inclined to NOT make a profit on items I can make a profit on. Unfortunately, if I sold everything I had at current market value, I would lose thousands of dollars. At the same time, I'm looking to sell my Huck for $210, which is better then what it's going for, yet more then what I paid. I also waited in line for 5 hours to get it signed, and my intent was to keep it. When all is said and done, if you do NOT live close to the con and only want a few pieces, it's much cheaper to pay flipper prices, then to make the trek. It's also less time consuming and could be less stressful.Eric wrote:It's always humorous to see how people try to steal from others based on the fact that you can't make a show. Screw them. Re: bud cat sdcc 2010 on ebay
I think theres a limit to how much you should flip stuff for, but at some point it just becomes insulting. Of course if people are willing to pay 3 times the normal price for a toy, then someone is gonna sell it for that price.
You cant put the blame purely on flippers, if theres no demand then the cost of the supply is gonna stay at OG price value or maybe lower.

Re: bud cat sdcc 2010 on ebay
It depends on how much you really want something that is being flipped. I mean, I paid the extra money for the budcats because I had to have them. Like I said earlier, I think I paid double - so living in NC instead of flying to CA and going to the con saved me a buttload of money & I got one of the few sets of figures that I wanted from this years SDCC without going through the hastle.
I guess it all boils down to a personal outlook on flipping - there will always be flippers & demand for rare items.

If I hadn't gone, I would have purchased 2 sets, and it pretty much would NOT have mattered what the cost was.

if you paid money to go, and met people and most probably had a wonderful time there. no amount of money can buy you that experience.
but yes, if you're looking to get just the exclusives, getting them from flippers will be the best way without costing an arm or leg, especially for those living outside of the USA.
