Damn, I'm sorta looking for that one. Is it possible to order from them online and if you don't mind me asking: How much did you pay for it and was it the last one left?

PS they seem to have some sort of sale today

Yeah, pretty sure it was the only one they had. The store is closing down at the end of the month, hence the sale. All blindboxes in store were buy 1 get 1 free and they were all cheaper than normal as well. I paid £70 for the rat, which I thought was reasonable.

Thats VERY reasonable in my opinion, especially since it's never been opened (I guess)

It was on display in a cabinet and I think it had been there for a while, so it's not 100% perfect. That's kinda what made me get it as I thought he should go to a good home as I didn't know what might happen to him after the stores closes down! - lol. He looked a bit lonely amongst all the KR stuff.

You can bet your coins on that.

Some great deals I bet. I wonder why KR is closing? I mean, first OriginalFake and now these turkeys. Could it be that the trend of "art/urban" toys of the last decade is meeting its end?

Not to cast any stones here, but I feel that a lot of young collectors enter the hobby via KR (which is fine by me) and then realize the mirad of options out there and either jump ship on the brand or keep buying limited releases or even just blanks for their own endeavors. My point is, has KR finally produced enough labbits that the market is so saturated that having a flagship on one of the worlds priciest cities is not fiscally sound anymore?

Its interesting to ask these questions, since a lot of american artists would not be anywhere had it not been for this brand.

And I say this because yes, both of these stores closed as soon as the fiscal year ended. SO it is about the money.

Yes, if you were into KR stuff, then there were some really good prices, especially on the larger items. About half of the cabinets were empty though, so I imagine alot of the really popular stuff had gone already. I'm not sure what conclusions you can draw because of it's closure. I think it's a shame, as no designer toy bricks & mortar stores in the UK seem to do very well. I'd not been to the KR store before and they obviously did sell other brands, there was some Coarse stuff and some really nice custom pieces too.

It may just be another in the long, long line of high street store closures here in the UK. At the moment, a week doesn't seem to go by without another big retailer in the UK announcing that they are going into administration. Some town centres now really only consist of poundland type stores, charity shops & coffee shops..

Hell yeah, dude! That's awesome! You got it for a crazy good price. I picked up the Playge edition Rat for $90. I wanted the Playge edition first, but I figured for how cheap the red/white was going for, might as well. Ha ha.

I think it is the same body, but a much earlier iteration of it.

Why the question? Older zombs should be able to replace the broken parts of a Rat, not that you would want to do that.

Just picked up the set for $171.95 + $10 for shipping. That's about $91 a rat ahhhh! I had been wanting these for a bit now.

Post  AngieP on Wed Sep 11, 2013 10:25 pm

Hi all.

Well, thought I might as well jump in with my first post being a note of my purchase of the White Rat (ebay for less than original, more than the bigbadstore, which unfortunately was out of stock, so all in all, a win for moi!).

I've been lurking for some time now, wanting to post, but not knowing where to as I didn't see any Intro thread or the like (though I know a lot of names from other groups/forums). I've been silently scoping out my first C&D/Ferg toy... well, not really as I managed to score one of the custom Young Gohsts from Grody&Ferg off Lulu, but I've really dug these ratty bastards since my two eyes met his 3.

Funny thing- I've only discovered this wonderful designer toy community this year, but as an artist I've been drawn right in. In fact, I was actually thinking about designing and making custom clothing for these rats & maybe Squadts- knitted/sewen, mini T-shirts, bunny slippers... whatever. If/when I do, I'll be sure to post Wink

Anyhoo, Hi and howyadoin!
