Copperhead Leather Jacket Issue
The leather part of my black Copperhead is falling off by small pieces.
Does anyone has a similar issue?

Re: Copperhead Leather Jacket Issue
I keep my copperhead in a glass cabinet.
When I took it out yesterday, I noticed this issue.
Any solution?

They have all started too do it pro ally because its real leather that needed too be treated like a coat. I don't think there is anything you can do besides sit back and watch it fall apart litteraly lol every time I look at mine and I don't move it it has been worse n wprse

Thanks for the advice.
Maybe it will eventually turn into a 3A style vintage figure.

They have all started to do it probably because it's real leather that needs too be treated, like a coat. I don't think there is anything you can do besides sit back and watch it fall apart, literally. lol, every time I look at mine and I don't move it, it has been worse and worse
A lot of the earlier medicom toys that came with faux leather have the same issues. Heck, even newer ones, like the daft punk: tron ones have that problem.
The only thing I can think of is getting that spray for faux leather and coating it with it. You can also take the piece to a leather shop and they can repaint it for you. That is expensive and it will probably bring down the price of the piece.
I am too at a loss as to what to do, I guess somethings have shorter life-spans. This is one of them.

The two I've seen had this problem as well. Try to make it crumble in an artistic way

Re: Copperhead Leather Jacket Issue
suggestion:
I'm a scuba diver and have lots of rubbery and faux leather like parts in my gear.
All of this has a tendency to break down over time (just like the outfits here)- sunlight makes it worse...
If you catch it before it becomes a problem, you can probably stop it by using the same solution I was taught to use
by my original instructor - food grade silicon lube.
Just rub it on (lightly). It keeps the material from drying out and flaking off.
I used it on my Hot Toys Copperhead outfits (which have a tendency to do the same thing)- they still look as good now as
when I first bought them
here is a link to see what I'm talking about:

No i haven't...but it's basically clear, at most i wouldn't think it would do more than darken it a tad from the moister.
I'm sure nothing a small test in a hidden/not noticeable spot wouldn't reveal.

Re: Copperhead Leather Jacket Issue
Took my black copperhead out last night and whilst the suit is in not too bad condition, it's not flaking, the suit is tearing a bit, especially around where the hoses connect and it does appear to be worse than the last time I looked at him closely. Does this stuff look like the same kind of thing that you recommend scumonkey:

cheers!

While I have not used that specific product personally, I have read that food grade glycerin can be used for the same purpose.
As long as it's in a gel type form (not a liquid or spray- i've been warned that some propellents in sprays can be harmful).
The most important thing is to make sure the product is plant based and not mineral which will have the opposite effect.

Thanks man, I think I'll continue to look as I noticed that the particular one I found on Amazon UK was only 5ml for £7.99! - which seemed a bit steep for that kind of quantity. - thanks for the advice.

Re: Copperhead Leather Jacket Issue
I recently saw one advertised on ebay and looking at the pics..this problem seems very prominent (it was the black one). I am still waiting for the copper version to arrive and I am Already starting to get panicky about this. That said looks like it is necessary to periodically care for it so that it doesn't "fall apart in front of my crying eyes"

Re: Copperhead Leather Jacket Issue
I just received my copperhead. The suit is in pretty good condition, yet their are certainly cracks beginning to take shape. Best to add the suggested ointment mentioned early before it becomes too late.
