Gluing lenses: fogging up issue?
Hopefully Ferg or another skilled customizer can help me out here:
So I glued in the lenses in for my k11 custom and after a day (or maybe even a few hours, im not sure) the lenses fogged up with some weird white stuff. I know its not glue because when I put them in, they were perfect. Tjere was no fogging at all. So does anyone know what this is or where it comes from and how I can avoid it happening. I used rustoleum painter's touch flat primer, rustoleum matte clear coat, and loctite super glue gel control for the lenses.
Its the all the stuff dead center. Not the outer ridge stuff.
Here's some pics for reference

I don't think that's condensation. The glue probably reacted with the plastic.

Its weird cause the glue didnt touch the center at all, I was very careful not to glob it on so it oozes everywhere. Like I said, when I put them in: perfect. No glue touching the center. Its pretty weird.
Edit: oh and the white stuff on the outer edges is paint from the orginal color and a few scratches.

If I remember correctly, superglue fumes are somewhat corrosive to certain plastics. No clue how to stop it or get rid of the haze without removing the lens. But if you can remove the lens, sometimes the haze can be wiped off, if not you have to use some kind of cleaner.

Appreciate the info.
Would you happen to know any good alternatives for keeping the lenses in?

Re: Gluing lenses: fogging up issue?
superglue/cyanoacrylate based glues don't play nice with ABS plastic. They will always fog. It's the glue fumes reacting with the plastic
Try a silicone based adhesive for a solid bond, or canopy glue >http://www.riders.com/ric-560-canopy-glue-2-oz?gclid=CM20u4fN-bwCFUxp7AodmDYAkg
elmers gel glue will also work, but the bond won't be very strong.
