Friend needs advice on making a hollow/thin layer toy

A friend of mine wants to make his own toy and needs some advice on how to make vinyl toys thin like the munny. I know the school we go to is pretty well equiped with machines for model making and what not, im just a different major then he is so im not to familiar with what the equipment is called. I think his main hang up is on the rotator caster? how to get the liquid vinyl to thin out in the shell of the model he has and have it harden to a even layer.

Figured i'd ask here since the admins on this site seem pretty damn cool and helpful. Any advice would help, and i'll just pass it along to my buddy.
