Skateboarders...
Hey I know some you skate, and I could use your help. My son has been taking an interest in it and I'm clueless about it all. I could never skate myself, because dirt bikes were more my speed...sooooo I am thinking about getting him a board, but before I drop money on anything I like to be a little educated prior to my purchase. So here's my questions and concerns...
Size...he's a little over 4" tall.
Brands...I just know trendy shit but not quality.
Price... I'm no baller and if he chooses to lose interest in it (shit happens) I don't wanna be assed out...
Thanks for any help!!!

Re: Skateboarders...
Hey man! so since hes about 4ft and hes new to it you can start him of by getting him a 7.5" board that's the width as far as shape goes he isn't gonna know or care about that until he gets older assuming he sticks with it. he will just be stoked he has a new board lol for trucks I always stuck with (Thunder) trucks, for wheels I would get him between 52mm-53mm wheels no bigger no smaller, a good set of bearings for the wheels and are pretty cheap they're called REDS, for like 10 bucks more you can get REDS swiss bones there bad ass bearings. and as far as the board goes I would just go into the skate shop and pick what ever board graphic looks cool because if there selling it at the skate shop its not gonna be a bad brand. and since hes new he doesn't know what he likes so like I said he will just be stoked to have a new board don't get him a birdhouse or anything you know from a child growing up lol stick to a name you've never heard of. oh and for grip tape JESSUP is the best ! but if they don't have that get whatever they have as long as its not called black magic grip tape, that stuff sucks
list of things you need, and to sound like you know what you're talking about
-Board 7.5" cool graphic
-thunder trucks (maybe match with the board graphics if they have colors)
-RED bearings
-52mm-53mm wheels (white wheels, solid color wheels usually are made out of a hard ass plastic that slides around to much. medium softness for wheels)
-Jessup griptape (Black)
they usually have a build a board special but it will probably run you about $130-$160, small price to pay to be a cool ass dad haha I cant wait to have kids I better have a boy lmao

P.S. just clicked your big cartel link ! DUUUUUUDE deMINTed is soooooo sick I wish I had $80 I would cop one right now ! keep up the good work with those man
Re: Skateboarders...
lmao oh no way Independent trucks are the awesome thats what I started with and would still skate them !
Re: Skateboarders...
I also use independent trucks and spitfire wheels. Bearings I would use reds as well. For a deck I would order a blank one. You can always decide to sand it down and draw up something cool for him (or ask someone here to do it). Also my dad made me do chores and earn the money for the parts of my board, this way I wouldn't be so quick to give up on something I've worked so hard for.
Oh and get a good first aid kit, if the kid's into skating you're gonna need it!
