Question for the DJs...
I need to make a really simple mash-up. It doesn't even have to integrate spectacularly so much as place bits of a couple songs back to back to back. Can anyone recommend basic (preferably free) software to do that? If you must know, I'm making a song for first dance at my wedding. First make song. Then learn to dance. Finish with public embarrassment. Get through this and I'm off to Japan.
Re: Question for the DJs...
Mendez would be the man to answer this question. I'm not as good at the computer side of DJ'ing.

Re: Question for the DJs...
How comfortable are you with audio editing software?
Here's a few programs that will enable you to "mash up" tunes:
Ableton LIVE
Mixmeister Fusion/PRO
Fruity Loops
Ableton by far is what has revolutionize the "mash up" I suggest using that. I believe they're on version 8+.

Re: Question for the DJs...
Hey, Mendez - do you know of any good resources for tutorials, and the like. I got my hands on a completely legit "trial" version of Ableton for four bagrillion dollars, but I have no idea how to make it go. Right now it's more of a toy that a tool, which is unfortunate.

Not so comfortable. I used to DJ (as in not off a computer) in San Francisco in the early 2000s, so I know a bit about mixing, but I haven't done any work with software. This doesn't need to sound seemless. The most important thing is just to get it done so that I can learn the darn dance. In fact, if you have any time yourself and might be interested, I could send you the songs. Unfortunately, the wedding budget is beyond tapped, so I could only offer toy trades and/or gratitude. Anyway, let me know if any of those programs are simple enough for quick and fast learning! Thanks!
