Nade Light Empty Nade Light

Post  colbert Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:53 am

I had originally thought Bud Light was going to make a great name, until I realized I had done a Nade, so Nade Light it is. I can't decide if I like it with the white bulb or the clear.

Since I'm a carpenter not an artist, he only got caulked and spray painted. About 4 hours of work and 3 days of paint drying.

I was thinking of doing something like that, only with the bulb inside of the BUDs head. More of a mood light than a lamp. But I was afraid the bulb would melt the vinyl if I left the light on too long.

Does anyone know if those LED night light bulbs get warm?

Yes! A LED around 1W gives VERY little heat Smile

the white bulb is a spiral flourescent in a round glass, almost no heat. The clear bulb gets hot. My worries is in the inards, the light fixture is held in the body using spray foam, and the cord is spliced in his leg. I don't think I'll ever leave it on unattended.

The spiral flourescents I have used still get pretty warm, especially in an enclosed space. My idea was to take one of those small light units that you can get in crafts stores for use inside of ceramic houses and wire that up through the body of a 9"GID BUD. The GID 9"ers are pretty translucent and they look really cool when you light them from inside.
