here is my 9inch MFC custom im working on.



update:
jade is finished on cat and now just finishing the last eye and tongue.
Added the rope to give an idea of what it would look like. The shides will need to be smaller i think but so far so good.

The cracked effect on it makes it look completely like stone. How did you do that?

Or if its actually stone, damn!

Fantastic, love the stone look. How did you do it?

a combination of things. white spray, light blue spray, gray spray, and than a combo of the three to give it a speckle effect. the lines to show age and breaks in color of stone was done with colored water such as stained black ans stained white and just pouring it over the cat.

its the vinyl 9inch cat. finishing the jade accents than ill add to the sacred rope and add a few more things.
still debating whether or not to use moss as a final touch

damn that looks great!!!! for a second there I thought it was real stone.

thanks for all the kind words. I love these cats so i hope im able to do it justice. Ive been doing tons of research on shinto for this cat so it will incorporate many things:

shimenawa- purity rope around the neck
Goheis behind the cat - the sticks with zig zag paper to try and purify the evil and bad omen of the cat
ofudas- good luck talismans surrounding the cat as good luck offerings to appease the bad luck

and a few other things. There will be a whole back story to it.
As of now im doing it out of love and dont plan to sell.

But thanks for all the comments and ill def add more pics as they come.

I hope this strikes interest from others and we will see tons more custom cats this year. Ive been researching and looking at the MFC from the past show and hope something like that happens again

Nice work! Looks like real stone.

I don't think you see many customs with these because they were part of a pretty small run and they're not exactly cheap either.

I've got one custom that's just about done, it's from Rsin. Still have one extra left but haven't made any plans for it yet.

Really hoping Ferg drops more 9" this year. Would be great to have others and maybe a few extras for customs.

id love to see rsins. I think his dead cat with the roots is amazing.

Don't sell yourself short, the natural look you have is really great. Also, the Jade looks absolutely perfect.

Is the tongue going to be Jade too??

yes. the tongue will be jade also

I want the mini. I was going to do something similar but looks like you beat me to it

another shot. this one shows what the Gohei will look like. there will be two behind the cat. The wood will be stained and the paper will be of better material. Im just fleshing my ideas out

What material are the eyes?

just the basic lens the cat came with. Same as squadts I believe. Just just painted over with acrylic

I will be selling these customs it turns out once they are done. If anyone is interested in the 9inch or 3inch cat let me know
