Figured I'd start a thread about movies. Over the weekend I watched the newest Halloween movie, and Suicide Club. Both were pretty good movies. Plus, I watched Animal House for like the 100th time. That movie never gets old to me.

A bunch of people told me that movie sucked. I never read the book, so I thought it was a decent movie.
Re: - Movies -
"Knowing" was surprisingly good. Saw "Franklyn" too but don't know what the hell went on.
Re: - Movies -
Most avid fans of the book never even gave it a chance. It's a great film adaptation, considering the confines of that medium in comparison to print. His books are hilarious though.

Saw Transformers 2 over the weekend. Good movie. Critics rated it too harshly.
I have Hot Fuzz pretty much on loop in my DVD player right now, another good movie.

In Bruges is also one of my recent faves.

I thought it was good for a mindless action movie. Or for a transformers movie. I've never liked transformers though.

Re: - Movies -
I laughed more during TF2 than I did for The Hangover.
And I thought they were both funny movies (for different reasons).
TF2 was a lot of fun to watch, and face it, if you watch the original Transformers cartoon today.. yeah most of them suck. Bad script, bad animation.
If you go into Transformers 2 looking for some great representation of the cinematic art, you should get you head examined.
Big Robots, Shit Explodes & Megan Fox is hot. Nuff said.

Hahaha, exactly. Mindless action movies and comedies can still be fun. I haven't seen it, but I might eventually. Still haven't seen In Bruges, gotta pick that one up. Hot Fuzz is fucking hilarious. The end shootout is one of the best things ever filmed.

Re: - Movies -
Hot Fuzz is really funny, but he will never live up to Shawn of the Dead. Has anybody seen "Tokyo Gore Police"? I'm waiting for it to come in the mail. I read an article about it in Asian Cult Cinema, and I really want to watch it!
Re: - Movies -
Just saw Run Fatboy Run last week. Not as good as Shaun, but still pretty funny! Has Hank Azaria in it too.

Run Fatboy Run is a good movie. Gets a little silly when he hits the wall, but over all I liked it. He has some funny ass one liners in there.
Re: - Movies -
I started buying blu-ray since I got a PS3. Let me tell you , seeing PIXAR movies in 1080p on a 120hz HDtv is something else. WALL-E and Ratatouille look like you can literally grab the characters. Also picked up Equilibrium (one of the best and most underrated fucking movies ever), Event Horizon and Clockwork Orange on Blu-ray.
Re: - Movies -
Pixar on an hdtv is one of the greatest combos ever. Wow.

Re: - Movies -
you like dags?
i've been running through the Star Treks 1-7 again before I see the newest one. It's amazing how bad some of the scenes in the first two actually look. Watching old movies is a great reminder of how freakin' awesome Blu-ray with true surround sound is. And Pixar has been back on track lately. I haven't seen any of the newer 3-D flicks, but I hear they are pretty good.

Its better to watch the old series than the old movies before seeing the new Star Trek movie.
It takes place just before the era that the original series takes place in (sort of) and has a lot more to do with the characters in the series than their much older movie counterparts.

Clockwork is def one of my favorite movies. While the blu ray is much better then the dvd, it's hardly demo quality. There are some kick ass transfers for some movies out there. I love the 1080p and the 120hz too.
