my friend dragged me to this concert the other night: The whitest boy alive. they were dope.



a pretty popular german band from what he told me. they were total geeks but rocked the fuck out. happy to be playing in nyc.

funniest part of the night, some dude standing in front of us had big hair and a big beard closely resembled zak garanapoulous, the guy from the hangover. i kept making jokes to my friend about it. finally the guy turns around and asked my boy, "are you smoking pot" my friend thinks he's asking if he smokes, so he says "yea sometimes." at this point zak g is looking at him like hes crazy, and asks him again. so my boy is like "yea dude i smoke sometimes, so what". zak rolls his eyes and gives up trying to tell us he wanted us to roll one up, then my boy turns to me and says you know what i think thats the guy from the hangover and he keeps asking me if i smoke. wtf???

That part of the song throws me for a loop. Are they serious or is it part of an act? Either way, it's nice to hear and see something not packaged to be spoon fed to the masses.

Whitest Boy Alive are fantastic. The band is from Berlin, but Erland Oye is from Norway, and is best known for being 1/2 of Kings of Convenience. Also check out his solo album. My favorite is "Golden Cage" and the remixes for that one are fantastic.
