RIP John Hughes, Les Paul, TBC...... Lighter

John Hughes has died of a heart attack.

Hughes suffered the heart attack while taking a morning walk during a trip to NYC to visit family.

He directed such '80s hit films as "The Breakfast Club," "Pretty in Pink," "Sixteen Candles
" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off."

He was 59.

(CNN) -- Les Paul, whose innovations with the electric guitar and studio technology made him one of the most important figures in recorded music, has died, according to a statement from his publicists. Paul was 94.

What a life that man has lead. To live to 94 is an accomplishment. I can just imagine all he experienced.RIP

I saw a really good documentary on him a while back called chasing sound. It was on one of pbs's american masters episodes. REALLY good movie if they start to rerun it. Worth a netflix rent as well. The things he's done, the places he's been, the people he's met...Just...WOW. Most people couldn't do in two lifetimes what he did with one.

i grew up with the Hughes' movies, but my wife is younger and has barely seen any of them. We're going to start watching them all again. I'm afraid that they may not seem as awesome now as they did then. kinda like myself i guess. i used to be hella-awesome! or at least i thought so.
