Okay, that is fucking hilarious. I mean, I grew up in a hardcore Christian family and my dad is a minister, but no would ever have acted like that. 666 is actually more of a superstition thing.

I actually think it's kind of sad.

I think many do believe it's an unlucky number - this cashier definitely did. I always find actions like this fascinating, because I enjoy learning about all types of beliefs and trying to figure out what makes people behave the way they do - that's why my minor focus was behavioral psychology while in college.

What about this group that's going around saying May 21st is doomsday?
What will they say when they wake up on May 22nd? And many believe that tragedies, like the one that just hit Japan, are part of the end times.

Why not just try to live the life you have to the best of your abilities instead of hoping for something better later? Tragedies hit everyone big (Japan earthquake) and small (contracting a disease). I don't think there's anything supernatural involved. We all just have to help each other through times like these.
