Re: ebay in fire
Don't worry too much. It won't sell for that high of a price.
Most likely it will languish on eBay for several months continually falling in price until someone picks it up around $100-115.
That's what happened to the White Copperheads, and just like the white copperheads the GID NKD Jack will be released in another colorway (white) which will be in much higher numbers. QPMNT PAC 3 will also be released at a later date. Both of these things will drive down the price of the GID NKD Jack on the secondary markets.

Re: ebay in fire
i personally like when the value of a toy increases after a sell out. to me its part of the thrill of getting it @ retail price. if they stayed at the $75 mark in the after market there would be no demand when one comes up for sale on ebay (think gohst 2). the value of all art toys have taken a hit in the past year or so. if they didnt go up in value upon sell out, who the hell needs to sit in front of the computer waiting on a release. it is the fear of over paying for things that brings us all together online at the 12pm cst drop. i think it works and i like when my collection increases in value. things will change if they ever get to mass retail like the nkd. but to me i like things just as they are. limited release with heads scrambling to fight off the flipperz.

Re: ebay in fire
I also like when my collection increases in value. It is one thing (aside from great designs) that elevate the toys released by Jamungo above a lot of the "Happy Meal" toys of Kid Robot and whatever they are selling in Walmart or Toys R Us right now. I also like how everyone crowds the forumn to get the toys on drop day. And you are right, I hate buying Squadts 2nd hand because I know that I could have gotten one for retail price if XYZ hadn't happend.
However there is a difference between a toy rising in value over time, and someone trying to artificially inflate the value of a toy by flipping it for a crazy price. A Nozzel S1 is worth US $150. It is worth that price because it was released a year ago now, and even though it didn't sell out super fast there are enough people who want one that you could if you wanted to ask that price and the toy would likely sell.
On the other hand, none of the recent Squadts have been selling for much over $110 and it is easy to find a lot of them for very close to retail price. There is very little evidence to say that the GID NKD Jack deserves a $170 price tag, after all the White Copperhead also sold out super fast, and was limited to 100 toys, but now can be had for under $100 if you look around a little. And just like the White Copperhead GID NKD Jack will be re-released in other colorways.

Re: ebay in fire
I was there at 12:00 noon CST, and I missed it. As a hardcore Jamungo collector this makes me mad. I'm not surprised about it, but it really gets under my skin when it happens. It's been less than a week, and they haven't even shipped yet. I wanted it for my collection, and this fucktard is selling it before he/she even has it. I understand supply & demand, but this kinda shit makes me want to find the person, punch them in the throat, give'em a nice roundhouse to the face, yell ROADHOUSE, spit in their face, take the toy, and run!

I am done with scalpers! The best way to beat them is to let them get stuck with everything they buy! If they can't flip it or return it they'll get the message that it's not profitable to prey on collectors.
Don't support them no matter how badly you want something!

Not buying is really the only way you can fight flippers, aside from finding their address and taking an axe to their knee caps.
It is frustrating to see these great toys get snapped up by people only to be flipped at crazy prices. But if you pay those crazy prices not only are you screwing yourself out of cash, but you are supporting the activity of some asshole who might have kept you from getting the toy at retail price. Encourage them and they will only be back for the next release.
Another thing to consider is that while you love this toy now, there may come a time when you need to clear out your collection to make room for something new, or because you have been screwed financially in some way and need some fast cash (or to support your crack habit, whatever). If you buy these flipped toys at these inflated prices there is a good chance that you won't be able to get a return on your investment when you have to go and sell or trade it later on.
It sucks to miss out on a release. It sucks to have to pay Flipper prices. But it sucks even worse to lose money on an investment because you bought a toy with a super-inflated price. If you are patient you will almost always be able to find the toy you want at the price you want.
Look at me, I got two of my grails in the last month. I have been looking for these for almost 3 years and I got them at prices that are a third of what I thought I would pay for them. (Thanks everyone, btw )
Patience is key.

Ditto! Well said! I'm still holding out for that URFKT (1) & Glowflage at a decent price...
Eventually both will drop into my hands because I'm patient. (And broke!)
Crack? I have a serious vinyl problem that's cutting into my crack money!
