It sounded like he was gonna make it, but he just passed away this morning from an overdose. What a fuckin bummer.

I'm not pointing any fingers. Just stating a fact. He overdosed on prescription drugs, along with about 15 other major stars in the past year. Heath Ledger, anyone?

I know, it really is a shame and sad..i dont understand how the doctors dont get in trouble.

I don't know the specifics in this case but a lot of time addicts have multiple health care providers that often have no knowledge that the patient is seeing someone other than themselves. If you are using different pharmacies you also have a lower risk for being flagged as drug seeking or suspicious. and of course if you have enough cash you can easily get around seeing a doctor to get pills.

EXACTLY. I felt kind of bad for MJ's doctor. I mean, MJ was addicted to this shit WAY before this guy came on the scene. If they are gonna prosecute him for it, then they need to go after every doctor that inappropriately prescribed him meds. And there were a hell of a lot of them.

MJ was gonna get what he wanted one way or another, his doctor wanted to keep his piggy bank. Most doctors if they get caught selling pain killers or anything else mostly get their license pulled for awhile. I knew a doctor who had a pain killer scene running for years till he got busted. Think he lost his license for 2 years.

This shit is not at all regulated in the U.S. I have friends that get prescribed everything under the sun. I would be willing to bet that 1 in a 1000 gets busted.

A lot of doctors and so called "doctors" will prescribe whatever the patient wants as long as they can fake the symptoms convincingly and have a reliable way to pay. I had a girlfriend at one time that got a psychiatrist to prescribe Adderall XR in daily 60mg doses. Shit turned her into (more of) a zombie.

Yep. There needs to be more government oversight of this stuff. If you prescribe something, you need to have proof that the patient needed it, or you should be held accountable.
