Got Ripped (Resolved)

I made an agreement with "weew" to purchase a pair of spot and spike squadts. Weew said he didn't want to be charged by paypal so I could not select the "gift payment" option when sending the money. Well i just learned that by doing so i wouldnt be able to file for any claims should i get ripped. It has been more than a month and still no sight of the dogs, weew has not been replying to my messages as well. I can only blame myself for being too noob now. But I hope you guys can learn from my mistake.

I hope this shit gets sorted out man! I would still try filing a claim with them saving it was a wrong address or something.

I hope this gets worked out and he just had some kind of emergency or something that has been taking up his time. But this kind of stuff is why I am reluctant to deal with boardies who have low post counts or unless they have a good reputation from elsewhere. And I never send PayPal as a gift unless I know the person I am sending it to. If they really wanna sell their shit, they can eat the $5 just like everyone else or build it into the price.

Just FYI, PayPal charges a 3.9% fee when receiving money in exchange for merchandise. 3.9% of say $85 is only $3.32

We're not flaming you weew, he had a concern seeing as your somewhat newer to the forums. Maybe the package is stuck in customs then. In germany I had a package held in the taxes office for 14 days (24 days total shipping time) before they sent out a mail to come pay the taxes on it, so patience might be the best bet here.

The post/customs/etc. can sometimes be a real pain.

I agree customs can be a pain. I bought a Jack from fleabay with tracking so I knew my package sat at customs for a full week after it arrived in the country. It's understandable as squadt packages have skulls on them...I just wish everyone would understand this.

Anyways, PM answered. I sent longbow a scan of the receipt from my post office.

We are not really flaming you dude, but it is easy for people to become suspicious of new people especially involving monetary transactions or bad trades. Bad trades have happened to just about everyone on this board, even with boardies that have a long history here.

Communication goes a long ways to making people feel more secure that they can trust you (or anyone). Even if you do not have a solution to a given issue just letting people know you care as much as they do can set a nervous party at ease.

The post office just got back to me, no such item came in from Canada.

Bought something on ebay from some guy in canada and it took a month to arrive after he shipped it.

Worst part? The guy didn't put any tracking method on it, so I was up in the air about getting a paypal claim on him within the 30 day limit!

Canada post definitely took its sweet time to get a measly bubble envelope to my door.
