HP Touchpads on sale for $99/$149

They're discontinuing them after only 2 months on the market. I'm an apple fanboy to the max, but shit, for $100...I'll take one. Almost every major retailer is sold out. Macmall.com has them and newegg hasn't lowered their prices on them yet. And more are supposed to come in directly to hp sometime this week. They've been selling like crazy though.

I was just thinking about making a post about this.

But as you said sold out EVERYWHERE. Anyone who's anyone has emailed or texted me for one.

I barely got my hands on one myself. I literally had to pull some strings with a Staples manager friend of mine that put it in a safe after he remembered i was looking for an el-cheapo tablet i could fuck around with.
I have alot of experience with Windows mobile (and CE) platforms. This will make for a good side project to see if i can port a little something lighter and more mature on there. ie: Android.

Yeah, looks like the only hope for people now is straight from hp if they restock. Maybe a few other online retailers too. For the most part though, these were completely cleaned out.

My hopes are still up for this device dual core 1.2 snapdragon..Its a beast processor.

Are probably where i would point someone that owns this tablet.

Pre central seems to be getting an influx of traffic atm.
But devs and amateurs alike put up apps for WebOS on there. Which is where i will get started once i have my tablet in hand next week or so.

If anyone sees the Touchpad for sale anywhere for a cheap price.. drop a line. I have been looking for one for a while, but as soon as the price drop hit they were sold out everywhere (worse than a Squadt drop!)

As far as brick and mortar stores go...I think everything is gone. Best bet right now is hp when they restock. I'll post it here if I hear anything else.

I called them today and they couldn't tell me if they had any stock OR if they would price match (As the tablets are still marked at 400$ +)
But if it goes through i'll let you know.

Finally have it confirmed that I have one! Man...This has been stressful. It'll be here tomorrow

HP.com is sold out as are most retailers.
You still might find stock at a few B&M stores but it grows increasingly unlikely.

HP has said they are doing one last production run of Touchpads in order to fill back orders. You might have a chance to pick one up if there is any leftover stock but chances will likely be slim.

Touchpads are all over eBay and Amazon Market, but the asking price ranges from $230-600 and even at the low end of that spectrum it might not be worthwhile given the slim chance of future support from HP, app developers or 3rd party accessory manufacturers.

If you grab one at $100 it is very worthwhile tho, much past $200 and you are better off getting something like the Asus Transformer. It is $380 and a lot more machine for your money than the Touchpad.
