Toy Collecting
So I recently stumbled across Squadts (damn they're awesome). I'm an avid toy collector myself, generally Transformers and other random stuff. But my question to you all is, how did you guys all get turned onto designer toys like Squadts? I'm a bit of a completionist when I collect and since i'm so late to the game, its probably pointless to try with the Squadts. Anyways, how did you all come across designer toys like these? Random luck? or is there some designer toy forum with artist releases or something?
Edit: not sure if I should post this here or under the Squadt heading...

Re: Toy Collecting
I personally am a fan of street artists. Many years back when I was looking for some art online I stumbled across pictures of toys on some random website I was on. From there I started checking out the toys as there were quite a few by artists I liked. I then started to buy toys and it all snowballed from there! Lol

Thanks for the welcome. I too like street art, are there any other toy lines similar to Squadts?

Not really...There's definitely a lot of cool stuff out there, but the stuff ferg is doing right now is pretty unique. Check out toysrevil and vinyl pulse for all the latest news.

Re: Toy Collecting
I've always been a collecting connoisseur, started with pogs and pokemon cards when I was young, than I moved on to better things like comic books. I remember for my 12th birthday my parents got me some a lot of simpsons stuff, and among it were 3 simpsons action figures. After that I got hooked on collecting figures, but I digress. I just recently got into the whole vinyl figure scene, it started with looking for Futurama figures that I found the figures Kidrobot has. After some digging around, I found the BUDs and everything else Jamungo. Now I'm broke as shit, and every check I get (which is, by any standards, laughable) is used to fund an extremely expensive hobby I can't even afford.

I started with transformers too. I actually just pre-ordered an alicon from bbts last week. I miss my old sharkticon. I bought the chinese bootleg sharkticon that is probably melting in my attic right now. I have some of the masterpiece collection too. I found this place kind of on accident. Bbts had a preorder for gassd and rover. I thought they looked cool so I did a google search and found this place. And here I am now some 12 or 13 squadts later.

Thanks for the info guys. Gonna start searching around for some figures and i'll see where it takes me. I'll just eat sandwiches from now on haha.
Oh and another thing, where do you guys normally buy your figures? Any store fronts in LA/OC? or recommend sites? I've tried looking at a few of the online retailers that were listed but didn't find much.
