Since the contest only allowed each member to submit 3 photos. What are some of the photos that you cut/didn't submit? Also, some of you are VERY talented with these photo programs. Can you post a before and after?

I would have done more photos with each piece, or with less pieces. But since my son's comp doesn't have PS, and I was in a crunch for time, I wanted to make them as impressive as I could.ilovefreestufftoo wrote:Since the contest only allowed each member to submit 3 photos. But you have some fucking cool TOYS homie.
I wish I had more time for my pics too. You can tell how quick it was shopped lol. When I get home I'll post some pics of the ones I cut from the contest.

Nice idea for a thread!
I've got one shot that didn't make the cut- though I thought It turned out pretty good, so heres a couple of before and after shots... Or after and before Both featuring JPK's Ashigaru Dunny-
Really didn't have a lot of time to get some shots for the comp- crazy busy at the moment. Managed to grab a couple of quick shots on a trip to the playground with my daughter!
Utilised the slide for the first shot, and found an intersting fountain for the second which I didn't enter.
As with most of my shots just edited on my iPad1 (which can be a bit restricive given how underpowered it is now compared to the later versions). Got a colour splash app from the app store to play round with the black n white n red colour effect. Was pretty pleased with the results- though took a fair bit of time on each to manually go round all the edges- prob would have been easier with a stylus rather than my fat fingers
Rest of editing (bit of contrast etc) just done with the snapseed app again on the iPad.
Looking forward to seeing some of you guys behind the scenes shots

Its a Cannon Powershot- pretty much a point and shoot (though can play with the settings a bit)- cost about £140, but I've had it for a couple of years now. Im a pretty low tech photographer really
I really believe you dont need expensive gear to get a decent looking photo.

Badass shots dude. I can't believe you edited it on an iPad. Thinking about getting that or the Samung Note tablet.

Really great idea dude! I'm surprised nobody thought of this sooner.
I didn't really have any time to take more shots either. But here are some that didn't make the cut.

Re: Photo Contest 4 Discussion
Original picture that I took on my desk left a lot to be desired. Had trouble popping the Doc's eyes out so I did that in PS by making paths around the eyes and adjusting the Color Balance. Don't have an Albino Doc yet so I whitened the hat and cane by making a path around them and messed with the levels (ctrl + L). Made the jewel red by making a path around it and, again, messing with the Color Balance. Imported a jpeg for the brick wall to cover the mundane foamcore wall in the original (erased the foreground elements since the brick wall layer was on top) then blurred the edges of the Squadt and Sqube a bit to make it more natural, then added shadows to the background to pop out the white. Then some cropping and messing with the levels and contrast to make it a bit more dynamic to liven up the static pose for the finishing touch.
Wish I had more time as I had a blast!

I really need to learn how to use PS.
You guys really gave those pics a nice pop.

We should have a straight up contest. Themed, but no PS allowed.

Here is my before and after. I really didn't have that much time to do to much so I just took a quick shot of my WIP with my iPhone and used a photo app I had.
