Re: Recommendation for removing a stubborn lens?
Thanks for the prompt response Patrick. I have one lens out and the other I can't get behind so prying is proving difficult. There doesn't seem to be any glue residue on the removed lens/socket so perhaps this fella is newer than the older glued in models. BTW, it's GID Halloween Chipp... I don't care much for the fluro-yellow lenses with the underside-painted black.patrick40 wrote:Some squadt's have glued in lenses ( almost all older ones )

Heat up the helmet with a blow dryer and gently bend the sides of the helmet where the lenses are and push from inside the helmet till it pops out. I've removed skelsuit Chipps lenses with a little effort and no damage.

I use 3m double sided tape tabs and they seem to work every time, even with the older glued lenses

I can't take credit for this method..someone here came up with it..sorry, can't remember who.. but it works like a charm.
Re: Recommendation for removing a stubborn lens?
yes those work awesome for sure
but if its in there as tuff as you say (glued) definitely use some heat
keep that hair dryer close by for neck joints if youre removing the head too
ive been lazy once and i guess it was kinda cold, oh snap
