ASPP Custom Sqwert Process Thread Empty ASPP Custom Sqwert Process Thread

Post  ASPrintingPress Fri Jul 11, 2008 6:25 pm

I thought I would post the first process thread in this nice new forum of ours kindly created by Ferg and VB.
This is just the start of two Sqwerts that I'll be customizing, I will post progress pics here and answer any questions that may come up. Sorry for the crappy pics, all I had this morning was my phone.

Interesting! You have my attention now!

I'm about to start my first bud custom tomorrow. I haven't decided if I should primer it or just start painting. Any advice?

No assburrito isn't a name for a butt pirat . It was a name I gave a co-worker years ago. He had intestinal problems and wasn't supposed to eat hot or spicy foods. He did it anyway, a lot! One day after lunch he fell asleep at his computer. Nothing new, we we're all used to him doing that. Well on this day something different happened. Everybody was working in the shop, and he wakes up, freaks out, grabs his ass, and runs like hell to the bathroom. 30 mins later he comes out, and looks like he just fought 20+ ninjas. He explains to us, in detail, what he did. He ate burritos for lunch, and covered them in hot sauce. His medical condition combined with the burritos turned his ass into a volcano of destruction. We all laughed and had a blast teasing him about it. So the next day at work I brought him a cape and nicknamed him Captain Assburrito!. When I started to do stickers and street art I wanted to come up with a name people would remember. Hence Assburrito! was born Twisted Evil

Prime that baby, Rustoleum makes a clear primer made for plastic it's a beautiful thing, you can get it at Lowes or Home Depot. More pics to come in just a bit.

Here is the base coat, Mil. Green and Light Mil. Gray. I also primed these really well.
ASPP Custom Sqwert Process Thread SqwertBaseColor
Here is the front and sides. All the outlines are done, now the real fun coloring these with One Shot. It's the real deal old school lead based enamel. Also the names of these are actually B-29 bomber names, Kritzer Blitzer and Snake Bit. Once I paint these they should look a lot tighter. Also the finger prints and lead marks left over from the outlines will kinda fade away after I distress them with a little rust and old fashioned beating.

Finally got the painting done last night. I used good ol' one shot lead paint, old school to give it more of a 40's flavor. Now all I have to do is distress them a little and add some rust. Enjoy.

But since we are, your Sqwerts looks damn killer!
Also, what did you use to get the rust effect?
