BUD custom.... process thread
starting a 9" BUD custom...
did you know that if you take the head of a Toxic Waters BOTM apart it has a mini flame in there?
and that the circumference of the hole in the head, and that of the mini head are pretty much exactly the same as the matchstick of the 9" BUD?
it's true!

Re: BUD custom.... process thread
oh yeah, I'll maybe post some progress pics tonight. forgot that cooking the BUDS would make them soft, now they kind of have little flat spots on the back of the head, no big deal though ...

Re: BUD custom.... process thread
for the record, sculpy sticks to Buds great.
Gorilla glue is probably not the best adhesive for these projects.
sanding sucks and I can't figure out a way to clean sculpy out of my metal files?

Sculpy sucks because you have to bake it. Try Magic Sculp (google search or search for it on eBay). It works like clay and the working time can be lengthened with water, it has a very fine grain and is a two part epoxy so it basically air dries to a hard, rock-like finish.
If you wanna get the sculpy out of your files, and taking into consideration that the files are of fairly decent quality and DO NOT have plastic handles, you can prolly just bake the sculpy off. Just bake it at 500 degrees for like an hour, and then let the files cool and you should be able to just knock out whatever sculpy is left over. This has worked for me in the past but I don't guarantee that you won't kill your files
Re: BUD custom.... process thread
I will have to try that baking trick. I was thinking acetone or some kind of harsh shiz.
will post some photos here soon. waiting for some paint to dry...
