The thank you thread (response)
First of all, I would like to thank Ferg again for doing this.
I have a few things I would like to get off of my mind. One thing that makes us different is the fact that we are so close and respectful. I understand wanting to have the best chance possible to win these awesome pieces....I want them just as bad as any of you. For the people talking bad about the newbs (A) That is breaking the one rule we have on this board (respecting others). (B) It's not very representing of the awesome vibe we have here. (C) If I was a newb who had any intentions of sticking around after the contest, I probably would NOT, based on this whole "FUCK YOU NEWB, you shouldn't be included in our contest" vibe.
I, for one, would like to welcome the newbs, and I hope you stick around after the contest, and prove to be valuable members. We really do have a great little thing going on here.
If anyone is cheating and creating multiple accounts for this contest though....a big FUCK YOU!!!
Carry on.

Im a semi-noob .. I had a fairly smooth intergration into proceedings. fortunately there were no prize give aways when i only had 5 posts :S. But yeah everyone has got to start somewhere. Prehaps a higher limit that 5 posts as an incentive to get people to stay and contribute..

Well said BigC!
We all started new at some point for the love of Jamungo. CAD is a wonderful community, lets just keep it friendly and drama free. No one wants this to turn into the kidrobot forums *shudders*.
Whatever rules ferg comes up with for the give away, just be happy for the chance at free shit and enjoy the ride yo.
I'm gonna be honest, I like free stuff but I like the fact ferg is on the forums chatting with us and posting fuckin funny ass vids way more. A designer/toy maker/ addiction dealer or whatever you want to call him thats involved in the community says so much more then free give aways...
Though the occasional free bud doesnt hurt haha.

There's a Swedish proverb "Hard but heartly".
I think it apply quite well to CAD

For the most part, you guys have been the most welcoming bunch of boardies I've ever come across. I don't recall any hazing when I jumped aboard, but mind you, it wasn't while there was a contest going on.
I'm all for noobs, but not opportunists. KO and BP over on the CP Forums have the same kind of 'thank you' opportunities as Ferg. I think what Kathie said about opportunists applies just as much here as on CP:

These boards were created so that we could continue to get to know our fans and find out what everyone likes and doesn't like and the feedback we get here is absolutely priceless. So it means a lot for us to offer these types of incentives to those who do contribute to our little commuinty here. Newbies and lurkers are always welcome, but when you only choose to contribute when we offer the goods, you have to expect a good natured ribbing-- simple as that.
Besides, our work isn't about cute little unicorns or fairy princesses, so if you can't handle a little smackdown every now and then you probably shouldn't be collecting our work as it will probably give you nightmares. With that said, all those newbs that are left standing and can fend for themselves-- WELCOME!

Looking forward to hanging with you, CB. Welcome aboard!
And +1, Mendez! Kathie's the first to don spiked heels when mooches/flippers show up. It's really quite awesome.
