Best way to pop out the eye lenses?

Any advice...I don't want to damage them. Thanks!

you can use a hair dryer (don't point directly at the lenses), hot water or a microwave (short bursts)

I heard of someone using the microwave method too on a figure. I prefer hot water myself

I used a safety pin and was reallllllly careful. Popped out no problem. My luck I'd put it in the microwave and come out with a puddle.

Sorry about the threadomancy, but this seemed relevant again in the wake of the Squadt Assembly opening- I'm actually having some trouble getting my lenses to stay IN the Germ mask- any tips, or should I be running some PVA glue around the edge or something?

my concern with using any glue would be paint removal if u want to switch again
but im sure if its just a toothpick amount in a couple spots on the edge ud be fine
i bet something like elmers white glue would be ok
id stay away from model glue or any kind that melts plastic

PVA is like Elmers or Tacky glue, its usually safe on clear plastic, but like you say, might be a pain if I ever decide to change it. I'm also a little concerned about the tampo on the lenses (GID bug) and the spray around the eye holes on the helmet. Maybe it's just a little mooshed, and a shot with a hair dryer or a quick zap will help it right itself? I need to take a look at it alongside my other Squadt, see if there is any visible shape difference.

maybe if u cut a small circle of cloth (maybe something even thinner, paper?)
and put that in the eye, then the lens

Best way too get loose eyes too stay would be heat up the head and place lens in the socket , and let the eye socket for too the lens .

First round of heating (with the microwave, can't remember where the hair dryer ended up after moving) got things pretty toasty, but the eyes are still falling out. There doesn't seem to be anything in there to actually grip the edges of the lenses, not sure if that's a manufacturing flaw or if I just need to get him hotter. Once I find the hair dryer, I can get more targeted with the heat- I didn't want to go much longer in the microwave, as the thinner inside of the helmet was getting soft.

An advice be careful with the glue.I ruined my first squadt with that and the same problem.A toothpick is not a bad idea for fix the glue.

What kind of glue did you use? If it's white glue, you might be able to soak it in warm water to get it to let go.

I read somewhere on these forums that hairgel works well. Never tried it myself, but it seems plausible - tacky enough, but not permanent or corrosive.

glues dots (the removable kind) work real well. just rip off a tiny piece and place it near the edge of the lens in a couple of places.
museum gel also works really well.

yep, I also use the dart method as quent suggested. And if the suction is too weak, I use a folded piece of duct tape. I did use a pin when I first started popping lenses out, but ended up scratching the lens.
