Puck Heads

Good Hawks game today. Couldn't watch it all, just in spurts because of the Holiday. I hope I can score some tickets for Sunday's game next week. Going to try to see if anyone will be selling their tickets on craigslist or something.

....my Hawks are blowing some teams out but losing cole ones late in third periods, i still don't have full faith in Crawford

Besides the Hawks the Leafs are my second favorite team. Why? I have weird loyalties to the Original Six with two exceptions.

In the West I am sick and tired of the Wings success. Plus they had Chris Chelios for so many years, who the jackass Hawks let go when the team was under fuckhead Bill Wirtz.

In the East I hate the Bruins because I love to hate all Boston teams.

But, I would still rather have these two teams do better than some of the nonsense teams in illogical locations like Phoenix and Florida.

How can you have franchise in these two areas and one in Wisconsin, Kansas City or Seattle?

I'm not much of a Red Wings fan either. So I hear ya.

I think the NHL puts teams where they think the money is obviously - owners and ticket buyers. Phoenix and Florida don't seem to be logical places but to some neither is Columbus. So do well and some don't.

Sticking with the original six isn't a bad idea either. If I were to pick one of those it would've been Montreal at one time since I was a HUGE Roy fan. Not sure who I'd pick now.

I just love watching and playing. It's awesome stuff.

I can't believe Crosby is going to out again. I know some people hate him and it's unfortunate because he's a GREAT player and one of the hardest working guys I've every seen. We don't have to get into the love 'em or hate 'em because I know for hockey fans it can be a touchy subject. I just hope whether he comes back or not this season (he'll be back) that he's OK. Crosby seems to have some bad luck at times. I'm still excited to see what Morrow, Murray and Iggy can do. Should be interesting.

I dont know anything about hockey, but some guy was telling me once that babies have been baptized with that thing and that some one used it once to catch a leak on their roof.

What other crazy stuff do you guys know of?

The baptizing occurred when Sylvain Lefebvre from the 1996 Colorado Avalanche had the trophy.

Here's what happened to Phil Bourque from the 1991 Pittsburgh Penguins Cup Winners:

Those who win the Cup earn an engraving of their names on the outside of the trophy, but Bourque has his name on the outside AND the inside. During his day with the Cup in ’91, he heard rattling, and attempted to make his own repairs. In doing so, he took apart the Cup and saw that some repairmen had scratched their names on the inside. Phil followed suit, and etched in: “Enjoy it, Phil Bubba Bourque, '91 Penguins.”

Last game didn't look great for sure. Wild dictacted physicality and stayed in your zone a large margin of the game. I don't think I've seen Seabrook on his ass more than I saw in that game.

Sidenote, can I just say I love playoff hockey. So nuts.

I hear ya. I have faith in my Pens but their second game was definitely not their best and yesterday's wasn't crazy good either.

that's why i love the seven game series, less chance for upsets and the best team does advance....

so far, i'm fairly pleased the way the west is playing out, det-ana and la-stl tied up and the canucks down 0-3.

don't know why, but i really hate the canucks.....
